[HISTORY BRANCH: ORIGIN]
KAO PHASYS is a music project with deep hardware roots, releasing atmospheric, dark audio novels at the intersection of IDM, progressive ambient, experimental electronics, and sound design. Behind it all is a composer and sound designer who started turning knobs as a child on the legendary ATARI ST, running Notator, at the time considered the pinnacle of hardware music geometry.
Early tracks were recorded straight to cassette. Despite the distinctly lo-fi cassette sound and a total lack of understanding from everyone around him, that experience shaped a unique "architectural" mindset built on tangible, physical sound, and built a lasting immunity to mass trends.
This music isn't just background beats, it's soundtracks for imaginary worlds. The tracks weave together the vibe of 90s video games, the aesthetic of dirty analog distortion, dark corners of the subconscious, and science fiction lore.
